KRAKOW: The first in person edition of KFF Industry since 2019 kicks off today, 30 May 2022, after two years of online and hybrid editions. KFF Industry is an accompanying event for film professionals of the 62nd Krakow Film Festival, running 29 May - 5 June 2022.

PRAGUE: The Czech National Film Archive (NFA) has just premiered the newly digitised The Assasination / Atentát, a unique 1964 depiction of the killing of acting Reichsprotector Reinhard Heydrich by Czechoslovak parachutists on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Heydrich’s assassination.

CANNES: The Hungarian scriptwriting team Daniel Daoud and Simon Szabo were awarded the Krzysztof Kieślowski ScripTeast Award 2022 for the Best Eastern European Script for Our Place Is Outer Space. Special Mention went to Jan Koos from Slovakia for his script The Ferryman.

CANNES: Lithuanian sci-fi drama Vesper directed by Lithuania’s Kristina Buozyte and France’s Bruno Samper has racked up theatrical sales deals via Anglo-French outfit Anton.

PRAGUE: The 62nd edition of the Zlin Film Festival, which is focused on children and youth, will take place 25 May to 1 June 2022.

PARIS: The Bosnian majority coproduction I Didn’t Make It to Love Her by Anna Fernandez De Paco and the Czech minority coproduction Scale by Joseph Pierce have been selected for the 61st edition of Critics’ Week (Semaine de la Critique), which will take place 18-26 May 2022, within the 75th edition of the Cannes Film Festival (17-28 May 2022).

LIMASSOL: FNE spoke to Danae Stylianou, Head of Dot.on.the.Map Industry Days held 14-16 April 2022. She spoke about the first on site edition of the event, which is part of the Cyprus Film Days and was held in Limassol at the Rialto Cinema in Cyprus.

LIMASSOL: Utama by Alejandro Loayza Grisi, a coproduction between Bolivia, Uruguay and France, has been awarded as best film in the Glocal Images International Competition of the 20th edition of the Cyprus Film Days International Festival. Cypriot/Greek Dog by Yianna Americanou received the award for best Cypriot film.
