VILNIUS: The American film and TV production company Kaleidoscope Pictures is shooting the television film The Cobbler/Batsiuvys based on a story by Leo Tolstoy in Vilnius, Lithuania.

VILNIUS: Marius Markevičius began shooting the WWII drama Ashes in the Snow / Pelenai Sniege in Lithuania. The film is an American/Lithuanian coproduction based on the bestseller Between Shades of Gray by Rūta Šepetys.

VILNIUS: One of the main goals of the Lithuanian Film Centre in 2016 is to increase cooperation with the Baltic states. The centre is also launching a new programme to support the distribution of domestic films in Lithuanian cinemas.

VILNIUS: British miniseries War and Peace by Andrew Davies, which was partly shot in Lithuania, is expected to boost tourism in Lithuania, since its first part had 6.3 m viewers on BBC One on 3 January 2016.

VILNIUS: Director Donatas Ulvydas and producer Živilė Gallego are shooting the feature film Emilia on location in Lithuania. The theatrical release is planned for 2017.
