PRAGUE: The Czech Film Fund distributed 2,505,383 EUR / 64 m CZK to eight feature film projects. Tomáš Mašín, Tereza Nvotová and Beata Parkanová are among the winners announced on 9 August 2019.

PRAGUE: Jan Prušinovský, also known for his successful TV comedy series, has just started shooting his new feature film, the Czech/Slovak coproduction Mistakes / Chyby, in the Czech town of Příbram.

ZLIN: Highly anticipated teen drama Smečka / The Pack, directed by first time Czech director Tomáš Polenský, started shooting in Zlín on 24 July 2019. The film is set in the world of ice-hockey, where the hero becomes a target of tough bullying. Copenhagen-based LevelK has already acquired the world sales rights.

PRAGUE:  Petr Zahrádka, mostly known as a TV series director, started shooting his feature comedy Chlap na střídačku (no English title available) this week.  The popular cast, promising a new box office hit, includes Jiří Langmayer, Ivana Chýlková, Iva Janžurová and Lucie Žáčková.

PRAGUE: A German production based on an adaptation of  Lassie Come Home of the well-known English novel by Eric Knight is currently shooting in the Czech Šumava Mountains. Czech Mia film provides services for this project that registered for incentives at the Czech Film Fund.

PRAGUE: The first Swiss / Czech feature film coproduction ever Lost in Paradise / Ztraceni v ráji directed by Fiona Ziegler is shooting in Prague and Bern from 3 July to 8 August 2019. The film is a comedy road-movie about two worlds and two generations, and it follows a man born and raised in Switzerland, who decides to move to Prague, the city his father left in 1968.

PRAGUE: Two new episodes of the successful international miniseries Maria Theresa II are currently shooting on Czech locations. The director Robert Dornhelm and his crew are also presenting the project at the Karlovy Vary IFF, which runs through 6 June 2019.

PRAGUE: Ali Mosaffa, Iranian director, actor and producer, is completing the shooting on his feature Halves in Prague. The mystical drama based on real events tells the story of a middle-aged Iranian investigating his father´s communist past in contemporary Prague.

PRAGUE: Director Lenka Kny is in postproduction with her new Christmas film Closer to the Stars / Vánoce budou, co-written by Hana Cielová.

PRAGUE: Petr Zelenka is now shooting a feature film, the Czech/Slovak/Slovenian coproduction The Pilot / Modelář, after five years of working mostly on TV projects.
