PRAGUE: The Czech Film Fund supported the production of nine feature films, totalling 65 m CZK / 2.509,168 EUR.

PRAGUE: Two Czech animated minority coproductions have received funding from the Czech Film Fund and Eurimages. News of the support comes on the eve of the beloved Czech animation festival Anifilm, which runs 1-6 May in the South Bohemian town of Trebon.

PRAGUE: The Czech Film Fund has announced grants for thirteen Czech minority coproduction projects of all genres in 2018, as a sign of the growing awareness by Czech filmmakers of the importance of collaborative coproduction arrangements. The total number of projects registered for this call was 29. The fund distributed the entire 30 m CZK / 1.185,771 EUR allocated for this call.

Ice Mother is a Czech/Slovak/French coproduction.

PLZEŇ: Little Crusader / Křižáček by Václav Kadrnka will screen at the 31st edition of Finále Plzeň Film Festival. The most important Czech national film festival, presenting contemporary Czech and Slovak audiovisual production, will be held from 19 to 24 April 2018. This Czech/Slovak/Italian coproduction was awarded the Crystal Globe at the 52nd KVIFF and best director at the Czech Critics‘ Awards.

PRAGUE: Unique historical audiovisual material was discovered in an old bankrupt factory in Central Bohemia. A preliminary inspection has revealed it to be a record of the political show trial of Rudolf Slánský in 1952. The existence of these materials was confirmed by witnesses in the 1960s and they have been sought since 1990.
