Six first time directors and six second time directors will be competing this year for the Transilvania International Film Festival (May 30 – June 8, Cluj-Napoca, Romania) trophies.

On Saturday, April 26, 2014 winners of the Slovak National Film Awards The Sun in a Net were revealed for films produced and premiered in the years 2012 and 2013.

The Best Fiction Film Award went to My Dog Killer by Mira Fornay and the Award for Outstanding Contribution to Slovak Cinema was granted to director Dusan Hanak and scriptwriter Dusan Dusek.

The most awarded was the film Fine, Thanks by Matyas Prikler, which won in all of the four acting categories - Best Actor in a Leading and Supporting Role, Best Actress in a Leading and Supporting Role. My Dog Killer received two more awards, for the Best Film Direction and Best Film Screenplay.

Krakow, 29th April 2014 - The British cinema will be the special guest at the 54th Krakow Film Festival. Within the frames of the section "Focus on Great Britain" the latest documentary films will be shown, and Polish and British filmmakers will meet at an industry conference.

PRAGUE: The Karlovy Vary IFF announced its first major guest for the 49th edition of the festival, 4-12 July 2014: Nobel Prize winner and former Polish president Lech Walesa who will introduce the world premiere of the director’s cut of Walesa: Man of Hope (Akson Studio) by Andrzej Wajda.
