The 27th edition of the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival will pay special attention to Ukrainian films, as the festival will screen 12 new features and shorts. The festival has also translated part of its website into Ukrainian and will present Banksy's audiovisual project Murals at the Opening Ceremony. The installation is based on world-famous artworks on Ukrainian residential areas destroyed by the Russian troops.

BUDAPEST: Megafilm Service Kft. will shoot the six-episode TV series The Protected Facility / A védett létesítmény (working title) directed by Linda Dombrovszky from mid-November 2023 to April 2024.The production is benefiting from a grant of 2.25 m EUR / 865 m HUF from the National Film Institute – Hungary.

Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival announces full programme and the line-ups of seven juries that will be evaluating the five competition programmes of the festival. The awards will be announced at the festival’s Award Ceremony, which takes place on the 18th of November.

PARIS: Croatian director Andrea Slaviček and Czech/Vietnamese director Diana Cam Van Nguyen are among the five female directors and one male director taking part in the 46th Résidence of the Festival de Cannes in Paris from 1 October 2023 to 15 February 2024.

BUCHAREST: Subteran, the first Romanian original Netflix series, has started shooting in Bucharest. The six-episode series is produced by Tudor Reu through the company Mobra Films, founded by Cristian Mungiu. Anca Miruna Lăzărescu, Daniel Sandu and Octav Gheorghe are directing.
