CANNES: The Slovenian Film Center announced the start of shooting of the first film to take advantage of the new cash rebate scheme, Intrigo -  Death of An Author directed by Daniel Alfredson.

SKOPJE: The first regional Balkan VOD platform of films from southeastern Europe, Cinesquare.net launched on Monday, 22 May 2017.

WARSAW: Fourteen films will compete in the two main competition sections of the 5th Cinema in Sneakers Festival for Children and Youth, running 31 May – 11 June 2017.

PRAGUE: The Institute of Documentary Film has announced the names of the 12 documentary projects selected for the 15th edition of the Ex Oriente Film workshop, an international training programme focused on development and funding of creative documentary films.

In cooperation with the Slovenian Tourist Board and the Ministry of Culture, today, on 22 May, the Slovenian Film Centre presented the measure introducing the right to cash rebate to the global film community at the European Film Market in Cannes.

CANNES: The European Film Agency Directors, EFADs, has issued a statement calling on the European Commission, Parliament and Council to promote and preserve cultural diversity and territoriality.

Preserving territoriality to improve the circulation of European films and access to European culture

The European Film Agency Directors (EFADs) have published a declaration outlining their concerns about the actions being taken at the European Union level which will undermine cultural diversity, contractual freedom, and territorial exclusivity. The declaration was adopted at our plenary meeting at the 70th edition of the Cannes Film Festival on Sunday 21st May 2017 and has been published online.
