TALLINN: Director Jaak Kilmi’s fast-paced action comedy The Dissidents opens in Estonian cinemas on 17 February. Kilmi is an awarded documentary director making a rare foray into fiction filmmaking.

Macedonian Film Agency announced the following production grants for feature, short, animation films and documentaries on 1 February 2017.

BERLIN: The Jihlava IDFF announced the launch of the Ji.hlava Film Fund to provide in-kind grants for mid- and feature-length documentaries originating in CEE countries.

ZAGRAB: A total of 21 films will compete in the 2017 Zagreb Dox festival, which runs 26 February – 5 March 2017.

PRAGUE: Building on its expanding original productions unit, HBO Europe announced the promotion of three executive producers.
