ZAGREB: Croatian dramatic TV series Rest in Peace has been acquired by the Belgian Flemish Radio and Television (VRT). This is the first series developed by the Croatian Audiovisual Centre to be broadcast in Western Europe.

RIGA: Seven films will compete for the first time in the international competition of Riga International Film Festival (15-25 October 2015). It is a competition for films from countries connected by the Baltic Sea and there is no genre limit.

ZAGREB: Dalibor Matanić’s The High Sun was the most watched film of the past weekend in Croatian cinemas with admissions of 12,019.

BUCHAREST: White Carpathia, the fourth and final episode of the British TV series Wild Carpathia, will start shooting this week. Producer Charlie Ottley launched a crowdfunding campaing on Kickstarter.com hoping to get 67,387 EUR / 50,000 GBP by 30 September 2015 in order to cover the costs of shooting.

WARSAW: The Film New Europe Association will be hosting in cooperation with the Austrian Film Institute within the frame of the LET’s CEE film Festival the event „Focus on Austrian CEE Coproduction: Things have changed !” on Friday 9 October 2015 from 9.45 to 13.30 in the Austrian Film Institute, Vienna. This is a networking event for producers and funders in the region.

BUCHAREST: Director/producer Thomas Ciulei, the son and legatee of the acclaimed director Liviu Ciulei, decided to forbid his father’s and his own work to be screened in Romania except for educational purposes starting with 19 October 2015.

BRUSSELS: Maciej Karpiński, novelist, playwright, essayist, translator and chairman of the Writers Circle of the Polish Filmmakers Association, was elected member of the European Federation of Screenwriters (FSE).

VIENNA: Eleven films are competing in the feature competition of the 4th edition of LET’S CEE Film Festival from 1 to 11 October 2015.

ZAGREB: Nicole van Kilsdonk’s children film When My Father Became a Bush has started shooting in Zagreb. This Dutch-Croatian-Belgian coproduction will spend approximately 655,500 EUR / 5 m HRK in Croatia. 

VALLETTA: According to the Maltese media, Christian Bale will shoot in Malta in the coming months.
