BUDAPEST:  László Nemes’s debut feature Son of Saul opened third at the Hungarian box office and sold 10,541 tickets in its first weekend. It was also selected as the official Hungarian entry in the foreign-language film category of the Oscars.

ZAGREB: Steven Quale’s action thriller The Lake, produced by Luc Besson through EuropaCorp started shooting in Croatia on 17 June 2015. The film is the most ambitious international production filming in Croatia this year. 

TRENCIANSKE TEPLICE/TRENCIN: The 6th edition of MIDPOINT Script Development Workshops for feature films and short films will have its first part at  the 23rd Art Film Fest (19-26 June 2015).

BRUSSELS: The Annual Report 2014-2015 of the International Union of Cinemas,UNIC shows that the overall box office as well as the market share of national films in the CEE countries increased significantly especially in Turkey and Poland in 2014 compared to 2013. In Turkey, the box office had a spectacular rise with 29.5%.

BUCHAREST: Paul Negoescu launched a crowdfunding compaign on Indiegogo for his independent feature Two Lottery Tickets/Doua lozuri. His aim is to collect 7,650 USD in 19 days.
