BERLIN: Romanian and Lithuanian coproductions, Why Me? directed by Tudor Giurgiu and The Summer of Sangailé by Alanté Kavaïté, as well as a Czech documentary Daniel’s World by Veronika Liskova, were selected for the Panorama section of this year’s Berlinale, running from 5 to 15 February.

NICOSIA: Cyprus Film Days will present a separate international competition section, Glocal Images, for the 5th consecutive year. The deadline for applications is 13 February 2015. The 13th edition of Cyprus Film Days will take place in Nicosia and Limassol from 17 to 26 April 2015.

Trieste, January 16th, 2015 – 30 different countries, 150 international decision makers, more than 300 registered participants: these are the figures of the fifth edition of When East Meets West, the co-production forum for Eastern and Western Europe starting on Monday 19th of January in Trieste. Along with 22 projects in development selected for the pitching, out of the record number of 285 submissions, When East Meets West launches two new initiatives dedicated to film in post-production stage.

The Summer of Sangaile by the Lithuanian director Alantė Kavaitė to be screened in the main programme of Berlinale Panorama. The film will have its European premiere in Berlin while its World Premiere is a couple of days ahead in Sundance.

At the upcoming East Doc Platform, the following 18 projects in various stages of production will be presented by their producers to East European professionals and important decision makers from all over the world within the prearranged one-on-one meetings at Project Market. They will be joined by the 7 projects selected for Doc Tank as well.

BERLIN: Polish minority coproduction The Days Run Away Like Wild Horses Over the Hills and a Slovak/Czech coproduction Goat/Koza have been selected for the Forum section of the Berlin Film Festival running from 5 to 15 February 2015.

ZAGREB: Croatian Audiovisual Centre approved funding for projects of Miloš Radović, Runar Runarsson and Eva Cvijanović.
