The winner of the Grand Prix of the 18th edition of the Black Nights Film Festival, now with the FIAPF-accredited non-specialized international competition, is “Lucifer” by the Belgian director Gust van den Berghe.

Polish film star Maja Komorowska will arrive in Tallinn to collect the Black Nights lifetime achievement award at the closing ceremony of the festival on Friday.

Established in 2007, the Lux Prize pursues two main objectives: spotlighting the public debate in and on the European Union and its policies, and supporting circulation of European coproductions within the Union. This year Paweł Pawlikowski’s Ida, Céline Sciamma’s Girlhood, and Rok Biček’s Class Enemy are competing for the Lux Prize.

The red carpet award ceremony of the 18th Black Nights Film Festival will close with the international premiere of “La Famille Bélier” by Eric Lartigau, a warmhearted comedy, on 28th November at the Nordea Concert Hall.
