Hungary proved to have the competitive advantage in landing the animation work for Princess of the Sun, a €5.5 million French-Belgian-Hungarian co-production that was recently presented in Hungary at a gala screening.

Prominent Brazilian cinematographer Walter Carvalho's €2.45 million directorial debut Budapest is about midway through four weeks of filming in the Hungarian capital after completing a 17-day shoot in Rio de Janeiro.

Film Bridge International has snapped up the US rights for the Serbian-Germany-Hungarian thriller The Trap by Srjdan Golubovic, Hungarian co-producer László Kántor (Dallas Pashamende) told FNE. The Trap was one of nine films short-listed for an Academy Award in the best foreign-language film category but was not one of the five nominees.

With the aim of participating in future local productions, HBO Hungary is forging ties with Hungarian talent on a four-part mini series it will air later this month.
