PLZEN: Czech and international industry representatives filled the annual presentation of upcoming Czech films organized for the 12th time at the Finale Plzen film festival, taking place until 2 May 2015.

PRAGUE: The winner of the Febiofest is Life in a Fishbowl, directed by Baldvin Zophoníasson. The film is a coproduction between Iceland, Finland, Sweden and the Czech Republic and produced by Axman Productions in the Czech Republic. Life in a Fishbowl presents a naturalistic view of life in Reykjavik during the economic crisis, where the heroine, a mother and teacher, must moonlight as a prostitute.

STRASBOURG: Eurimages, the Council of Europe's fund for the support of the European film industry has agreed to support 16 feature films in total and one documentary project for a total of 4,538,000 EUR. Among these, seven CEE films were funded, three of which are Romanian coproductions.

AMSTERDAM: Global City Holdings, the largest cinema operator in CCE and the second largest in Europe, announced its shares in Cineworld Plc. have now crossed the threshold of 29%.

SAN SEBASTIAN: An impressive retrospective of 50 Eastern European films is being featured at this year’s 62nd San Sebastian Film Festival. The series, entitled Eastern Promises. Autobiography of Eastern Europe, looks at films produced since 2000 in countries that lived under Soviet influence after World War II.
