SARAJEVO: After the success of her debut feature Soldiers. A Story from Ferentari, the Serbian-Romanian writer/director Ivana Mladenović is presenting her second feature film project Summer Night, Half Past Ten at CineLink Co-production Market, set to take place from 14 to 16 August 2018 in the framework of Sarajevo Film Festival’s CineLink Industry Days.
SARAJEVO: Bosnian and Herzegovinian writer/director Pjer Žalica, winner of more than 50 international awards, including Silver Leopard at Locarno IFF and European Film Awards – Discovery Special Mention for his first film Fuse! (Refresh Production, 2003), will present his third feature film project May Labour Day at the CineLink Co-production Market, taking place 14-16 August 2018 in the framework of Sarajevo Film Festival’s CineLink Industry Days.
SARAJEVO: Eight projects from Croatia, Greece, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia and Turkey will be presented at the 2018 Sarajevo Film Festival as the first part of the coproduction market CineLink. CineLink Drama selection has already been announced.
SARAJEVO: Despite the fact that Cinema Law still hasn’t been adopted, which means that Bosnia and Herzegovina still doesn’t have an audiovisual centre, there was a slight stabilisation of the film industry in 2017. Domestic films released in 2017 reached a record number with six feature films, one minority coproduction, one long animated film and 10 long documentaries. This is the first time since 2001 that more than 13 long films had their premieres in cinemas or at festivals.
SARAJEVO: Admissions to domestic films in Bosnia and Herzegovina show 46.9 percent increase, while total admissions increased by 17.81 percent. Two domestic films were theatrically released in 2017 compared to one domestic film in 2016.
SARAJEVO: The Film Fund of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced production, development and coproduction grants for 2017 on 8 November. Despite talks of an increase in funding, the amount of funds allotted to feature and short films, minority coproductions and for script and project development stayed at just 651,385 EUR / 1,274,000 KM.
SARAJEVO: Croatian project Srbenka by Nebojša Slijepčević won three out of five awards at Docu Rough Cut Boutique, the intensive five-day programme focusing on documentary films from Southeast Europe in production or postproduction, announced its winners on 16 September 2017. The programme took place in the framework of Sarajevo Film Festival’s CineLink Industry Days.
SARAJEVO: Six new projects for TV series from Serbia, Croatia and Macedonia were presented to film professionals at CineLink Industry Days’ CineLink Drama on 15 August 2017.
