BELGRADE: The first Serbian film to have its national premiere at the 51st edition of the International Film Festival – FEST running in Belgrade 24 February - 5 March 2023 is Where the Road Leads / Ovuda će proći put. Young Serbian director Nina Ognjanović’s debut feature is part of the main competition programme.

BELGRADE: The Serbian TV drama series Skin / Koža directed by Saša Hajduković, consisting of ten one-hour episodes, is currently in production in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The series is produced by the Radio Television of Serbia – RTS with Bosonoga Production from Banja Luka in the Republic of Srpska (Bosnia and Herzegovina) as executive producer. The premiere is set for November 2023 on RTS.

BELGRADE: The 51st edition of the International Film Festival – FEST is about to kick off on 24 February 2023. The slogan of the edition, running through 5 March 2023, is Passion of Life / Strast života.

BELGRADE: The French company Shellac has acquired international rights for Serbian minority coproduction Music ahead of its world premiere in the Competition of the 2023 Berlinale. The film, directed, written and edited by Angela Schanelec, is a coproduction between Germany, France and Serbia, supported by Film Center Serbia.

BELGRADE: The most watched film in Serbia in 2022 is the Serbian majority coproduction How I Learned to Fly / Leto kada sam naučila da letim by Radivoje Andrić with 193,011 admissions, followed by another Serbian film, Golden Boy / Zlatni dečko by Ognjen Janković with 168,071 admissions.

BELGRADE: The Serbian feature film Storm / Oluja by Miloš Radunović dominated the local box office charts in its opening weekend with 26,671 admissions, leaving Avatar: The Way of Water (11,942 admissions), Puss in Boots: The Last Wish (5,856 admissions), Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre (5,278 admissions) and Babylon (4,615 admissions) behind.

BELGRADE: The 16th Kustendorf International Film and Music Festival, initiated by Emir Kusturica, is about to kick off in Drvengrad, Serbia, on 25 January and to run through 29 January 2023. This year’s logo is “Art Above All”.

BELGRADE: Serbian director Pavle Vučković is currently in postproduction with his sophomore feature Protection Above All Else / Zaštita pre svega. The film is an independent production.

BELGRADE: Serbian director Miroslav Terzić is in preproduction with his third feature film The Excursion / Ekskurzija, based on a script penned by awarded Serbian author Vladimir Arsenijević. The film is a coproduction between Serbia, Croatia, Bulgaria and Italy.

BELGRADE: Hell Hole directed by John Adams and Toby Poser is currently in production in Serbia. This is the fourth in a row American/Serbian coproduction made under the brand “Blood and Honey Pictures”, launched by Miloš Đukelić from Serbia's Red Production for the production of small independent horror films.
