TALLINN: Acclaimed Finnish director/screenwriter Klaus Härö is currently shooting his feature film Never Alone / Ei koskaan yksin – Nie Allein, which is a Finnish/Swedish/Estonian/Austrian/German coproduction. The filming is taking place in Estonia, for 24 shooting days, and also in Finland.

BUDAPEST: The Slovak-Hungarian director/writer Lea Podhradská is currently in production with the creative documentary My Father's Daughter / Apám lánya, about her sister who disappeared without a trace from Slovakia 27 years ago. The film is a Hungarian/Slovak coproduction.

BUDAPEST: Hungarian director/writer Csaba Vékes is currently in production with the sports comedy The Rebound / Lepattanó, which will premiere in September 2024. The film stars American actor Patrick Duffy, well-known for the Dallas TV series, alongside Hungarian actor Péter Scherer.

RIGA: Latvian director/writer/actor Marcis Lacis has entered postproduction with the horror comedy Touched by Eternity / Mūžības skartie.

VILNIUS: FNE correspondent and film researcher Alexander Gabelia spoke to Ona Kotryna Dikavičiūtė and Eglė Maceinaitė, film programmers of the Vilnius Documentary Film Festival (VDFF), about the general goals and activities of the festival and its projects. The 20th edition is held from 21 September to 1 October 2023.

RIGA: Latvian director/writer Oskars Rupenheits is currently in production with the independent crime story Red Code Blue / Tumšzilais evaņģēlijs, which has been financed by private companies and funders, and also through a crowdfunding campaign.

VILNIUS: An international scientific conference Personal Perspective and Essayistic Form in Non-Fiction Film and Art will take place at the film and media space Planeta in Vilnius on 22 and 23 September 2023 within the 20th edition of the Vilnius International Documentary Film Festival (21 September - 1 October 2023).

TALLINN: Estonian twin directors/screenwriters Raul and Romet Esko wrapped shooting on their first feature film Two of Me / Mind on kaks on 5 September 2023 in Estonia. The film is about two twin filmmakers, who are trying to make a film about twins. Five additional shooting days are forthcoming in an African country in late 2023.

BUDAPEST: FNE spoke to Anton Yudintsev, founder of  Gaijin Entertainment, about their current activities, as well as the state of the Hungarian game development industry and its connections with cinema.
