BUCHAREST: Domestic,the third feature by Adrian Sitaru (Hooked, Best Intentions) was launched simultaneously in the Romanian cinemas and online for the foreign viewers on 22 March 2013.

ZAGREB: The Witch in the Jaws of Life, the first documentary feature from Senad Zemunović and Mija Pavliša, follows the famous writer Dubravka Ugrešić, branded a “witch to be burned at the stake” in the 1990s when she opposed nationalism in her writings.

ZAGREB: Concrete Love/Stvarna ljubav (working title), the debut documentary feature of theatre and film actor and director Boris Bakal is the result of his 10-year struggle to save a modernist skyscraper built by Ivan Vitić in the center of Zagreb.

BUCHAREST: Romanian actress Irina Petrescu, awarded Best Actress at the 1969 Moscow IFF, died on 19 March 2013, at age 71.  was one of the most important stage and film actors in Romania. 

BUCHAREST: Romanian director Cristian Mungiu received an Excellency Prize from the Romanian Filmmakers Union (UCIN), despite his refusal to allow his film Beyond the Hills/După dealuri to compete for the UCIN awards.

ZAGREB: Branko Ištvančić, (The Ghost in the Swamp) finished shooting The Bridge at the End of the World, a thriller produced by Irena Skorić through Artizana Film in coproduction with the Croatian Radiotelevision, Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Heft Production, and Serbia’s Cinematographer's House/Kinematografska Kuća.
