BUCHAREST: Beta Cinema signed deals for the Berlinale Golden Bear and FIPRESCI winner Child's Pose (Poziţia copilului) by Călin Peter Netzer with France and Germany.

 

BUCHAREST: Miss Country Girl/Miss fata de la ţară, created and produced by Media Factory for the Romanian channel Prima TV, will be produced in Thailand in spring 2013. The 13 episodes of the first season are set to premiere on Channel 3.

VALLETTA: Rebecca Cremona will shoot the second half of her debut feature film Simshar. Crowd funding (www.indiegogo.com/simshar) has been launched as the film prepares for its final weeks of production.

BUCHAREST: The National Audiovisual Council of Romania approved licence for two new channels, the news channel Realitatea Plus and Black Sea TV.

BUCHAREST: Paul Negoescu's first feature A Month in Thailand has been sold by MPM Film to France, where it will be distributed by Epicentre Films in the second half of 2013.

BUCHAREST: Romanian film critics and journalists named Cristian Mungiu’s Beyond the Hills/După dealuri (www.mobrafilms.ro) as the best Romanian film, best European film and best film in the Romanian cinemas in 2012.

BUDAPEST: Dutch filmmaker Maarten Treurniet (Het Paradijs/Paradise, The Heineken Kidnapping) will start shooting Kenau, a historical drama about a legendary Dutch folk hero, on 24 February 2013. The film is a coproduction between the Netherlands, Belgium and Hungary.

BUCHAREST: The National Audiovisual Centre of Romania has withdrew the licence of channel OTV on 22 January 2013 due to the unpaid penalties dating back to 2009.
