ZAGREB: Greek filmmaker Yorgos Zois (Casus Belli) started shooting his debut feature Trema/Stage Fright in Athens on 31 July 2014. The film is a Greek-Croatian-French-Dutch coproduction with Sinisa Jurićić coproducing through Croatia's Jaako dobra produkcija d.o.o.

BUCHAREST: Cătălin Mitulescu started shooting his third feature on 21 July 2014. Rumeno is a Romanian/Swedish/Italian coproduction which will be presented in the Venice Film Market.

BUCHAREST: Domestic attendance for the Romanian films was down in the first seven months of 2014 compared to 2013, with the youth comedy #Selfie contributing with more than a half to the local box office.

ZAGREB: The fifth season of the HBO series Game of Thrones will be shot in new locations in Dalmatia, including Šibenik and Imotski this fall.

BUCHAREST: The 4th edition of Mediaş Central European Film Festival (2-6 September), the only festival in Romania focusing on Central European cinema, announced the seven films competing for the festival's trophy.

PULA: Pirjo Honkasalo's Concrete Night / Betoniyö has been awarded Golden Arena for Best Feature Film in the International Programme of the 61st Pula IFF, 12-26 July 2014. Number 55 / Broj 55 made by Kristijan Milić for the Croatian Radiotelevision was awarded Best Film in the Croatian feature competition.

SARAJEVO: Nine films are competing in the feature competition of the 20th edition of Sarajevo IFF, including three world premieres.

BUCHAREST: After winning the first edition of Transilvania Pitch Stop at TIFF Father Moves Mountains/Tatăl mută munţii by Daniel Sandu and Mariţa by Cristi Iftime will be pitched at Locarno Industry Days (9-11 August) due to a partnership between Locarno and Transilvania IFFs.

BUCHAREST: Northern Irish-born New Zealand star Sam Neill is in Romania for the filming of Andrew Goth's quantum theory thriller Deus Ex Machina shooting at MediaPro Studios.

BUCHAREST: Save the Film Depot/Salvaţi Depozitul de Filme, the campaign launched during the 13th edition of Transilvania IFF gathered only 2,328 EUR through the domestic crowdfunding platform We Are Here Platform from 30 May-14 July 2014.
