JIHLAVA: Latvian producer Antra Gaile is in early production with People from Nowhere, a Cold War era documentary directed by Estonian director Jaak Kilmi.

JIHLAVA: Taking risks is not the traditional path for most film festivals. Sponsors and audiences often prove averse to such a move. But in the case of the fifth annual Inspiration Forum at the Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival, the risk of inviting WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange paid off for audiences, the festival, and the founder/curator of the event, Filip Remunda.

The East Doc platform is accepting submissions for its March 2016 event through 1 December 2015.

Honored guests of this year’s Ex Oriente Film in Jihlava are three internationally acclaimed and inspiring directors: Victor Kossakovsky (Russia), Laurent Bécue-Renard (France) and Anja Salomonowitz (Austria).

This year's edition of the Forum 2000 conference will host project KineDok within its programme, screening the documentary film 1989 at the Austrian Cultural Forum in Prague on 15 September 2015.

The ninth edition of DOKU.ARTS entitled Architectures in Motion will take place in the Zeughauskino of the Deutsches Historisches Museum in Berlin from 9 to 27 September 2015.
