The TIFF Kids section dedicated to films for young audiences will also feature Igor i podróż żurawi (Igor and the Cranes' Journey) directed by Evgany Ruman. This film, co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, was made as an international co-production between Israel, Poland, and Germany.

Baby Blues: A Film About a Teenage Mother

"For me, this is a film about how teenage girls, [...] these kids, they feel so lonely and unloved, that they have nobody to love and feel that nobody loves them, so they simply decide to have a baby. It is strange, and a little sad,  that they experience those feelings at such an early age. That they feel they have such a void to fill," said Katarzyna Rosłaniec in an interview for the Polish Film Institute. It is a fact worth mentioning that Katarzyna Rosłaniec's previous film Galerianki (Mall Girls) screened in the Discovery section of the Toronto International Film Festival in 2009.

Baby Blues, produced by Zentropa Polska, focuses on a teenage mother (Magdalena Berus), who decides to have a baby just to have 'someone to love'. The film features performances by young first-time actors, as well as Katarzyna Figura, Magdalena Boczarska, and Renata Dancewicz.

Imagine: A Different Perception of the World

Imagine by Andrzej Jakimowski is the story of Ian, a charismatic instructor for the blind, who begins courses for patients of a prestigious ophthalmology clinic. He teaches his patients about orientation in their surroundings. One of the methods he uses in his teachings involves echolocation. His unorthodox approach becomes something of a challenge not only for the patients, but also for the clinic staff. Soon Ian becomes particularly interested in one of his patients - Ewa, a young, extremely sensitive and introvert young woman. Though he himself is blind, Ian decides to take Ewa outside the clinic walls.

Imagine was produced byFilm and Music Entertainment Ltd., Zjednoczenie Artystów i Rzemieślników, KMBO, and Filmes do Tejo. The film features performances by Alexandra Maria Lara, Edward Hogg, David Atrakchi, and Melchior Beslon.

Toronto: A Key Event on the World's Film Festival Map

The Toronto International Film Festival is considered to be one of the top film events in North America. Organized annually since 1976, this festival is an event that showcases the latest trends in world cinema; the only awards at TIFF are those awarded by the audience. Previous editions of the festival featured screenings of various Polish films. It was the Toronto International Film Festival that marked the world premiere screenings of such films as Róża (Rosa) by Wojciech Smarzowski and Sponsoring (Elles) by Małgorzata Szumowska.

This year's edition of the Toronto International Film Festival runs from September 6 through September 16.
