BIAFF 2012 „INDUSTRRY MEETINGS“

    Batumi 7th International Art-House Film Festival (BIAFF) will take place during 16-23 September 2012. BIAFF was established in 2006. The founder and organizer – Batumi Art-House “ARGANI”, official partner – Batumi City Hall.

    Festival Venues – Cinema APOLO, Ballroom of Radisson Blue Batumi.

    During BIAFF 2011, by supporting Georgian National film Centre was organized “BIAFF INDUSTRRY MEETING” in which participated European film Academy, fund of H. Bals (Rotterdam film festival), EAVE, film institute of Poland, representatives and producers of A. Wajda School.

    On BIAFF 2012 “BIAFF INDUSTRY MEETING” continues and will take place during 21-22 September. In this days will be organized “Polish-Georgian” and “Turkish-Georgian” meetings, during which is planned visits of  5-6 producers/directors from Poland and 8 producers/directors from Turkey. Meeting will by attended also by the representatives of Ministry of Education, Culture and sports of autonomous republic of Adjara, who will present “Regional Film fund of Adjara”, Georgian Film Centre and Polish Film Institute (PISF).

    Major goal of “BIAFF 2012 INDUSTRY MEETING”   is to improve cooperation and networking of Polish and Turkish producers with Georgian directors and producers with the purpose of making joint projects. We choose Poland and Turkey, as important countries to improve co-production in cinema sector. The participants can make familiar with film production financing, co-production process in Poland, Turkey and Georgia, financial remedies, co-production opportunities, determine perspectives of future cooperation and share practice in European co-production. also will be summarized opinions of participants about future meetings and additional components (ex: pitching).

    BIAFF management is going to make the Polish-Georgian and Georgian-Turkish meetings annual one (in future may be added Ukraine) and to attract supporters/funds from  In BIAFF is planning this regard from Georgian, Polish and Turkish side. Under “BIAFF INDUSTRRY MEETING” can be developed the platform (can be added “pitching” for film projects), which will improve effective co-operation and co-production between 3 countries (and from next year may be including Ukraine).

     

    From Polish side will be presented - Radosław Piwowarski (producer/director), Ryszard Brylski (director), Krzysztof Kopczynski (EUREKA MEDIA Ltd), Anna Wydra (OTTER FILMS), jerzy Sladkowsk (producer, representative of Polish film institute). 

    From Turkish side meeting will attend - Guner Gulen-Yalan Dunya Film Yapim Ltd.,       Alper Ozcan- NAR Film, Huseyin Karabey, Asi Film, Daghan Celayir, Filmpark, Tolga Esmer- Sinefilm, Bertrand Glosset - Caravan Film, Derya Tarim- Lacivert Film, Dervis Zaim- producer, Enis Kostepen - Bulut Films, Guillaume Deseille - Arizona Films (France).
