Bells of Happiness Wins Slovak Doc Award at Cinematick Fest

    PIESTANY: The Slovak film festival Cinematik (www.cinematik.sk) has given the Film Europe Award for best feature-length Slovak documentary to Bells of Happiness (Zvonky šťastia) by Marek Šulík and Jana Bučka (www.zudro.sk).

    The award of the Mayor of the Town of Piešťany went to …I Don’t Think I Will Return (…Myslím, že sa nevrátim), a debut film directed and produced by Paula Sisková about a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela. The main prize of the festival, the Meeting Point Europe Award for the best European film, went to The Artist by Michel Hazanavicius. The Audience Award was given to Carnage by Roman Polanski. The seventh edition of the festival took place 7-13 September 2012 in the Slovak spa resort town of Piešťany under artistic director Vladimír Štric.
