FOUR OSCAR NOMINATIONS FOR BEASTS OF THE SOURTHERN WILD

The Hungarian premiere of Beasts of the Southern Wild, which is now nominated for the Academy Award in four categories, was held in September at Jameson CineFest in the presence of director Benh Zeitlin. Though it is his first feature film, Zeitlin was nominated for the world’s most prestigious film award in the category of Best Director among such legends like Steven Spielberg, Ang Lee or Michael Haneke.

The film was also nominated in the categories of Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Actress in a Leading Role. Actually, the six-year-old Quvenzhané Wallis is the youngest actress who has ever had a chance to win the award in the 85 years history of the Academy Award. Beasts of the Southern Wild, which is distributed by Mozinet Ltd. in Hungary, has already won the Main Prize of Sundance Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival’s Caméra d'Or.
