13. T-Mobile New Horizons IFF announces juries in all its competitions.

    Poland’s biggest film festival, the T-Mobile New Horizons IFF in Wrocław, announced full jury line-ups in its four competitions. This year’s jurors are a mix of artists, filmmakers and industry professionals.

    The Jury in the main New Horizons International Competition, which offers 20.000 EUR Prize and distribution guarantees for winners of the Grand Prix, Audience and FIPRESCI Award, includes directors Béla Tarr (Turin Horse), Dominga Sotomayor (Thursday till Sunday), Edgar Pêra (The Baron) and Joanna Kos-Krauze (Papusza) as well as Head of the Berlinale Forum section, Christoph Terhechte.

    The FIPRESCI Jury in that competition include journalists Neil Young (UK), István Szathmáry (Hungary) and Błażej Hrapkowicz (Poland).

    The Films On Art International Competition (10.000 EUR Prize and distribution guarantee in Poland) Jury will include visual artists, filmmakers Ben Russel (Let Each One Go Where He May), Amos Poe (Empire II) and Karol Radziszewski (MS 101), as well as MOMA curator, Sally Berger and Diagonale Festival Director Barbara Pichler.

    The Polish Shorts Competition will show local films to talent spotters and industry decision makers. This year’s jury includes festival programmers Laurence Reymond (Quinzaine des Realisateurs) and Jukka-Pekka Laakso (Tampere) and filmmaker Fijona Jonuzi (Girl).

    In the European Shorts Competition, the jury is made of Polish professionals: directors and visual artists Ana Brzezinska (I want no reality) and Norman Leto (Sailor) as well as critic Jakub Majmurek (Krytyka Polityczna).

    The 13th edition of the festival will take place in Wrocław on 18-28 July 2013. This year’s edition will look at French Neo-Baroque (Besson, Beneix, Carax), the works of Walerian Borowczyk, Hans-Juergen Sybelberg, new Russian cinema and classic and new cyberpunk. The festival’s key industry event, Polish Days will take place on 24-26 July.
