This year's festival will be a real treat for fans of short films! The program will feature more than 200 films from around the world, including the first-time screenings of the 2013 Oscar® Nominated Short Films. 4th December is the beginning of a real feast of new cinema in Bialystok!
This year, the festival organizers begin collaboration with one of the world's leading distributors of short films ShortsTV. The result of this collaboration is a premiere and special presentation of this year's Oscar® nominees and winners of the award for Best Live Action Short Film and Best Animation Short Film. In addition, the festival’s Grand Prix winner, apart from the prize of 2,000 euros, will win a contract with ShortsTV for the international distribution of their short film! Filmmakers have until October 24 to submit their film.
The festival is the opportunity to see, in most cases for the first time in Poland,captivating films, rising film talents, and become introduced to many unsung nations for cinema. The special screenings once again will include a retrospective of the Midnight Shorts, which is contemporary cinema inspired by cult movies. A new thing this year will be animated documentaries, comprising 10 titles from eight countries, including Poland. ZUBROFFKA film journeys will also result in specially prepared sets of short films from Bulgaria, Spain, Lithuania, Latvia, Germany, Ukraine, Russia and the UK.
