Czech Films at Karlovy Vary IFF

    Five Czech Films in the Competition Sections

    The main competition selection includes Little Crusader by Václav Kadrnka, documentary section will present The White World According To Daliborek by Vít Klusák and Slovak-Czech coproduction This Is Not Me by Miro Remo. In the East of the West section will compete Absence of Closeness by Josef Tuka and Slovak-Czech Nina by Juraj Lehotský. Find out more about the selection here.

    Czech Films in the Other Sections
    More than 20 other Czech films and minority co-productions will be screened at various non-competitive sections of the festival including internationally acclaimed titles such as Filthy by Tereza Nvotová, Ice Mother by Bohdan Sláma, Little Harbour by Iveta Grófová or Out by Gyorgy Kristóf. This year's selection features also some older Czech classics, for example The Shop on Main Street or Who Wants to Kill Jessie?. The whole list of Czech films at KVIFF can be found here

    Imprisoned and Atlantis, 2003 in Future Frames
    In its third edition of Future Frames, European Film Promotion selected ten outstanding young directors which will present their latest work at the KVIFF. One of them is Czech director Damián Vondrášek, which will present his second short feature Imprisoned, already nominated for the Magnesia Award for Best Student Film (awarded during the Czech Lion Awards). The selection includes also Slovak-Czech Atlantis, 2003 by Michal Blaško which has been premiered in Cinéfondation in Cannes this year. The participants will take part in a master class and an industry meeting with producers and sales agents in order to expand their international network.     Industry Events & Czech projects @ KVIFF
    The Film Industry Days (2 - 5 July) consist of several events for film industry professionals including Works in Progress, Eurimages Lab Project, Pitch & Feedback (co-organized by Czech Film Center and Slovak Film Institute) and Docu Talents, which all feature Czech film projects at various stages of development or production. In addition, the international industry guests will have a chance to meet the representatives of Czech Film Fund regularly during the Czech Film Fund Happy Hours, which will take place at Industry Pool in Hotel Thermal.
