Ignas Miškinis feature film King's Shift selected for the Duhok IFF

    Lithuanian feature film Karalių pamaina (Kings’ Shift, 2016) directed by Ignas Miškinis, is selected for the world cinema competition of the 5th edition of the Duhok IFF in Iran.

    The film tells about a rookie policeman, who is left alone in a private clinic to guard a comatose World War II crime suspect. Lack of sleep, loneliness, hunger and an embracing wish to serve police duty at all his best turn him into a ticking time-bomb at the very wrong time. He must decide how far he can go guarding the suspect, who is hated to death by everyone.

    King's Shift is produced by the production company “Tremora”, managing producer Ieva Norviliene, along with Latvias Film Angels Productions.

    King's Shift was funded by the Lithuanian Film Centre, the National Film Centre of Latvia and the EU programme EURIMAGES. The script was developed at ScripTeast 2013-2014 in Poland.

    This film already participated at the 21st Vilnius Film Festival Kino pavasaris, Baltic Gaze competition, Lithuania 2016; Festival des Films du Monde, Montreal, Canada 2016; Molodist Kyiv IFF, Ukraine 2016, Braunschweig IFF, Germany 2016; Muces IFF, Segovia, Spain 2016; Goa IFF, India 2016, Fajr IFF, Iran 2017.

    It got the national “Silver Crane” award in 2016 for the best secondary actor and best composer and Special prize of Lithuanian filmmakers union for the search of innovative dramaturgy.
