Zlín Film Festival receives prestigious status and signs new PARTNER contracts

Organizers of the 49th International Film Festival for Children and Youth, which will be held from 31 May until 7 June 2009 in Zlín, the Czech Republic, are proud to announce that the festival as well as its supporting event „Minisalon - Film Clapperboards 2009" have been selected by the Czech Ministry of Culture for the list of supporting cultural events to accompany the Czech EU presidency. The Ministry of Culture representative was happy to inform the organizers that the festival was granted the status of „The Official Event to accompany the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU". The status was granted by the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic and the festival as well as the „European Film Clapperboards" project have the right to use the official logo of the Czech Presidency.

The 2009 partner contracts were signed on 4 December in Prague and the new visual style of the 49th edition was presented during the St. Nicholas get-together. The visual style will be dominated by two principal colours of the Spanish flag, red and yellow, since the forthcoming edition of the festival will be devoted to Spanish cinematography.

The festival has a new benefactor and a main media partner. After ten years of supporting the festival, the Allianz Insurance company (Allianz pojistovna, a.s.) becomes the main partner and the Synot Tip company is the new benefactor. The second announcement comprises change on the post of the main media partner, since the MF DNES daily (member of the MAFRA Media Group) has joined the company of Czech Television, Czech Radio and Burda Praha (member of the Burda Eastern Europe group).
