34th Polish Film Festival in Gdynia

    Last year Gdynia was visited by over 45 thousand people. Over 2000 guests were invited and
    1212 accreditations were given, including 231 journalists, 366 observers, 234 Polish guests, 185 cinematographers, 36 VIPs, 88 foreign guests, 58 representatives of co-organisers and 14 members of the Jury. We also invited many artists and representatives of cultural and scientific institutes of Tricity.

    Who will be this year's winner of the Golden Lions? The answer to this question is expected to be given on 19th September during the Gala of 34th Polish Film Festival in Gdynia. 24 films will compete to become the best film in the Main Competition. The Independent Cinema Competition and Young Cinema Competition will also take place. The youngest generation will choose its favourite film in "Gdynia for Children" section. Above that, there will be screenings of important documents and long awaited films. The beginning of the most important celebration of Polish cinematography is scheduled for 14th September.

    We have the pleasure to inform you that according to our tradition, we will be visited by outstanding foreign cinematography. This year we are going to present you Israeli productions. The screenings will be accompanied by meetings and conferences with directors, producers and actors. We ensure you that the Israeli Day will be a wonderful occasion to meet not only the films but also the contemporary culture of this amazing country.

    Naturally, there will be an opportunity to take a broad look at Polish cinematography in Panorama of Polish Cinema section. A particular attraction for Gdynia audience will surely be the retrospective of Krzysztof Krauze, who will be this year's Chairman of the Jury. In Polonica section the cinema lovers will be able to get acquainted with recent foreign productions made in cooperation with Polish cinematographers.

    Apart from that, there will be everything the festival is famous for - dozens of accompanying events, film music concerts, exhibitions, conferences, meetings with authors, books promotions and much more.

    Last but not least - the Festival's audience, Polish and foreign guests, thousands of cinema enthusiasts who will bring life info the Festival and create its unique and distinctive atmosphere.
