PASSPORT CONTROL 18 WORKSHOPS AT MEDIAWAVE FESTIVAL

    30 APRIL – 8 MAY 2010, SZOMBATHELY, HUNGARY
MEDIAWAVE is organizing Passport Control 18 art workshops during MEDIAWAVE International Film Festival for film, photo, music, film criticism and VJ sections. There’s a very strong film section this year, supported by Hungarian filmmaker György Pálfi (Taxidermia), where Alan Heim (Oscar-prize winning editor) and Boris Mitic (documentary director) conduct a short master course. In the music section, Roma singer Gabriella Tintér teaches authentic songs, then the singers team up with György Ferenczi blues harp player and his instrumental participants to stage a concert at the festival. The photographers work on the topic "Roma is beautiful" and explore methods of socio-photography, event photography and archaic photography. VJ participants arrange the festival locations visually and provide background for the events, and participants of the film criticism workshop review the films screened on the festival. All in all, Passport Control will be reborn in its new location, Szombathely.
