Screenings of feature films before noon for reduced price

This year Finále prepared a novelty for its visitors of screenings before noon. For the price of a cheaper ticket (60 CZK) people can see a selection of feature-length films from the latest production. The films are screened in the great hall of Měšťanská Beseda and in the cinema hall, where the usual entrance fee is 80 CZK. From Monday 19/4 to Saturday 24/4 every day at 10 AM the great hall offers the following films: Men in Rut, Protektor, Foxes, Twosome, Jánošík and The Little Knights! The cinema hall of Měšťanská beseda starts to screen films shortly after the midday - at 12:45 and the following films can be seen: The Case of Unfaithful Klara (19/ 4), Veni, Vidi, Vici (20/ 4), Eye in the Wall (21/ 4), Market Chalet (22. 4.), Broken Promise (23/4) and on Saturday at 12:30 Catch the Billionaire.

"Our aim was for the festival to come to life before noon. Therefore apart from screenings for children we also offer interesting feature-length films to the audience, who can come before noon or shortly after the midday," explains the executive director of the festival Pavla Kormošová. She further adds: "In the morning and afternoon programme some films can be seen twice - these are the films which we expect to raise the most interest among the visitors."

Debates and author readings for free this year

Another novelty of this year's Finále is the free entrance to festival discussions and author readings. One of the debates will take place as part of the "Tribute to Drahomíra Vihanová" and will be accompanied by the launch of a book from the Finále edition about this important director. Another two discussions belong to section "Czech underground" and will be accompanied by screenings. The visitors can find them in the programme under names: "Cáry starejch filmů" and "History of Underground". The same section also contains both author readings by legends of Czech underground Ivan "Magor" Jirous and Pavel Zajíček, which will be held in cellar premises of Měšťanská Beseda, in the storage room for chairs.

Entry to the discussions and author readings if free of charge, however, due to the limited number of seats it is necessary to pick up tickets in advance.
