20th FilmFestival Cottbus - Festival of East European Cinema (2.-7.11.2010)

    Dear Colleagues,
    We look forward to welcoming you in Cottbus. We are pleased to announce that we will have international star guests who are coming to the special edition of the festival. We would like to offer you an opportunity to do interviews with them during the festival. Please find below names, dates and times:
    ANICA DOBRA - Actress
    Born in Belgrad the actress will be in Cottbus for the opening film the German-Serbian co-production THE WOMAN WITH THE BROKEN NOSE where she is playing a main part.
    Interview time: Tuesday / 2nd of November / on advice

    SYLVIA KRISTEL - Actress
    In the 70ies and 80ies Kristel became famous because of her part in the erotic-films EMMANUELLE. Over the years she also gained success in different character parts. At the festival she is starring in the film 2 SUNNY DAYS which is part of the section Fokus "globalEAST". She plays a French tourist with a husband who suffers from dementia.
    Interview time: Wednesday / 3rd of November / 11:00am-12:30pm

    ANJORKA STRECHEL - International Jury member and actress
    Born 1982 in Lüneburg. Having graduated from the Hamburg University of Music and Theatre she initially focused on theatre, making guest appearances at a number of theatres across Germany, including the Thalia theatre in Hamburg, the German National Theatre, Weimar and the Kammerspiele, Hamburg, before taking up a full-time position at the Theater Osnabrück. Alongside a number of short film productions Strechel played leading female roles in MEIN FREUND AUS FARO (2007) and the Russian Academy Award favorite KRAI (2010) which is shown in Cottbus.

    RENEN SCHORR - Member oft the Short Film Jury, Filmmaker, Director and Founder of the Sam Spiegel Film & Television School
    As one of the key people on the Israeli film scene he has contributed to the industry with being a cultural entrepreneur, a filmmaker and educator. He was one of the initiators of the Israeli Film Found (1978) and the raiser of New Foundation for Film and Television (1992) and the Jerusalem Film Fund (2008). In 1989, Renen Schorr founded Israel's leading film school, the Sam Spiegel Film & Television School in Jerusalem, considered one of the world's finest. 2000-2004 he was elected president of the European Film Schools Association.

    Shahant Shah - International Jury member, Director of DASVIDANIYA
    Born in 1973 in Bombay (today Mumbai) India. He has been working in the television industry since 1994. His experience has been intensive in direction, programming and production. Currently has directed and produced the feature film DASVIDANIYA. Shahant Shah will be in Cottbus together with his main character, theatre and movie star Vinay Pathak („My Name is Khan").
