FESTIVALS: Mustang Wins Sarajevo Film Festival

    SARAJEVO: Deniz Gamze Ergüven's Mustang was awarded Best Film in the feature film competition of the 21th Sarajevo Film Festival, running from 14 to 22 August 2015. The festival gave Honorary Heart of Sarajevo Awards to Atom Egoyan and Benicio Del Toro.

    Ten films competed in the feature film competition, 10 in the short film competition and 23 in the documentary competition. The feature film competition jury was composed of Călin Peter Netzer (president), Diana Bustamante, Zrinka Cvitešić, Mike Downey and Maja Miloš. The short film competition jury included Marion Döring, Una Gunjak and Alice Kharoubi, and the documentary jury was composed of Boro Kontić, Juliano Ribeiro Salgado and Anka Schmid.

    Other sections were In Focus, Open Air, Kinoscope, Shorts, Lasko Summer Nights, Children's Programme, Teenaena. The festival paid tribute to Brillante Mendoza and Atom Egoyan, and also celebrated the Human Rights Day on 18 August 2015.

    The industry section gathered many important players of the Southeast European film industry and hosted the Regional European Film Forum organised by the European Commission along with the traditional CineLink Co-production Market and Work in Progress, as well as Docu Rough Cut Boutique.

    Dagur Kari's Virgin Mountain closed the festival.
