The 4th Kind and Command Performance are keeping locally based production companies Nu Boyana film studio, Millenium Films, Nu Image, and producer Gold Circle Films busy with action thrillers this summer.
Milla Jovovich drew press attention for her month-long role as an Arctic based investigator looking in a series of disappearances, with Bulgaria's Vitosha mountain standing in for Alaska in The 4th Kind, directed by Olatunde Osunsanmi for Gold Circle Films and Nu Boyana Film.Film also stars Bulgarian TV and theatre star Yulian Vergov.The film wrapped July 24
Next up is Dolph Lundgren's fourthe Bulgarian film shoot, Command Performance, which begins filming August 11, ending September 20.In his directorial debut for Millennium/Nu Image, Lundgren will also appear as a drummer performing for the Russian Prim Minister. Lundgren was last in Bulgaria in February for his 24 day shoot on the $6 million (€3.8 million) Direct Contact. Lundgren said Bulgaria is chosen for filming "because of its competitive prices and equipment."
