PRODUCTION: Bojanov to Helm Bulgarian Coproduction I Want to Be Like You

    SOFIA: Award-winning Bulgarian director Konstantin Bojanov will go into production with his second film in July 2015, I Want to Be Like You, a Danish/UK/Belgian/Bulgarian coproduction which features an international cast that includes Klaus Maria Brandauer.

    Rebecca Lenckiewicz wrote the script for the coming-of-age road movie and Irish actor Barry Keoghan stars in the film, which will be shot on location in Copenhagen, the UK and Belgium.

    The film has budget of 2m EUR with funding from the Bulgarian NFC. It is produced by Bulgaria’s Multfilm, Toolbox Film (Denmark), London’s Film and Music Entertainment and Brussels-based Left Field Ventures.

    The film has been picked up for world sales by Antonio Saura’s Latido Films, which will be presenting it for buyers for the first time during the Cannes film festival. The film has been pre-sold to 41 Shadows in Denmark with pre-sale deals in the UK, Bulgaria and Benelux pending. The projected release date is spring/summer 2016.
