Bulgarian Cable TV Fined

Bulgarian cable operator Blizoo received a fine from the Commission for Protection of Competition, the Bulgarian office responsible for monopoly oversight. Blizoo is the country's leading cable company.

According to a report in Novinte, the monopoly organization was notified by a competing cable company that Blizoo was offering illegal bonuses to new subscribers.

Blizoo was created by the merger of Eurocom and CableTel in 2010.

The cable company was fined BGN56,288 (28,780 euros).
