PRODUCTION: Croatian director Matanic in development on The High Sun project

    ZAGREB: Croatian writer/director Dalibor Matanic (www.dalibormatanic.com) is developing The High Sun, a Romeo and Juliet-based love story about two people from different villages, religious and ethnic groups.  

    It follows his multiple-award winning 2011 psychological thriller Ćaća/Daddy.

    Zvizdan / The High Sun is produced by Kinorama (www.kinorama.hr).

    The project received a development grant of 20,316 euros (149,932 HRK) from the Croatian Audiovisual Centre (www.havc.hr) in March, 2011. Of the 1 m EUR budget, 115,056 EUR is already in place, Ivana Simic of Kinorama told FNE.

    Shooting is planned for six weeks during the summer of 2013 with Vanja Cernjul as the DOP. The film is scheduled to be finished in February 2014.
