The Priest’s Children Sells to 32 Territories

    ZAGREB: Vinko Bresan’s comedy The Priest’s Children has racked up an impressive international succes with 30,000 tickets sold in Brazil in 10 weeks and sales to 32 territories worldwide through the French company WIDE Management.

    The film has been sold to Argentina, Australia, Benelux, Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Mexico, Norway, Paraguay, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, Turkey, UK, Uruguay and USA.

    The Priest’s Children opened in Italy on 15 May 2014 and sold more than 6,000 tickets in the first weekend. It is expected to open in Denmark, Hungary and South Korea in July, and in Germany in August. The film will be distributed in the USA by Adopt Films.

    The Priest’s Children/ Svećenikova djec produced by Interfilm and distributed by Continental film in 17 prints topped the Croatian box office with 158,130 viewers, making it the most watched Croatian movie in the 21st century. It also set a record for a domestic film opening in independent Croatia where it opened on 3 January 2013 and sold 33,759 tickets in first weekend.

    The film was nominated for European Comedy 2013 at the European Film Academy Awards.
