The plot is centered on the most anticipated avant-garde theatre play of the year, when seven armed persons enter the stage randomly choosing people from the audience and asking them to co-create a new devised play with the cast. But with one condition: everything has to be real, from the performances to the bullets.
"Stage fright is the anxiety of an actor performing on stage. But the main psychiatric definition is the fear of exposing ourselves in front of others.(...) My ambition is to start this film as a mind blowing intellectual concept that gradually turns into a realistic body experience and ends up as a diluting flowing ambience," Zois said in a statement.
He also wrote the script. The film is produced by Greece's Pan Entertainment in coproduction with Croatia's Jaako dobra produkcija d.o.o., France's La Voie Lactée and Nederlands’s Lemming Film, in collaboration with the Greek company Marni films and the Croatian companies Tuna film and Nukleus film. Jaako dobra produkcija d.o.o. was founded by Nukleus film in 2013 in order to carry out international coproductions.
The Croatian Audiovisual Center (HAVC) is supporting the film with a minority coproduction grant of 78,416 EUR/600,000 HRK. The project won the TFL Production Award at TorinoFilmLab in 2012 and the CNC Award at CineLink at Sarajevo IFF in 2011. It was also selected in l'Atelier du Festival de Cannes in 2013.
Shooting will wrap on 1 September 2014 with most of the scenes shot at the Pallas Theater in Athens. The premiere is set for spring 2015.
