New Europe Picks up Hana Jušić’s Venice Days Quit Staring at My Plate

    ZAGREB: Croatian/Danish drama Quit Staring at My Plate by Hana Jušić, which will compete in this year’s Venice Days, has been acquired by New Europe Film Sales.

    The debut feature of Hana Jušić tells the story of Marijana, who becomes the head of the family after her dominant father falls seriously ill, taking care also of her irresponsible mother and mentally disabled brother. The new power constellation allows her to explore her sexuality and her inner strength, and gives her a taste of freedom.

    The main character is played by Mia Petričević (first-time on screen). Produced by Ankica Jurić Tilić through Kinorama in coproduction with Beofilm, the film was developed in Torino Film Lab and presented in the 2015 Les Arcs Co-Production Village works in progress section.
