Hungary and Czech Republic Compete at Monte Carlo TV Fest

    PRAGUE: Two Hungarian programmes and two Czech programme are among the nominees for the 2013 awards of the 53rd Monte Carlo Television Festival, taking place 9-13 June 2013.

    Agniezska Holland’s three-part film for HBO Europe Burning Bush starring Ondrej Trojan and Jaroslava Pokorná is nominated in the Best Mini Series category.

    In the Best Television Film category, the Czech Republic is represented by Occam’s Razor produced by Czech TV, directed by Daniel Svatek and starring Ondrej Sokol and Zuzanna Stinova.

    RTL’s Hungarian station M-RTL competed in the same category with Aglaja directed by Krisztina Deák and starring Eszter Ónodi.

    Hungarian public broadcaster MTVA received a nomination in the New Documentaries competition for On the Spot – Tribes and Warriors, a 10-part global series.
