FNE at KVIFF 2014: Invitation to Film New Europe Coproduction Meeting

    KARLOVY VARY: Film New Europe will be hosting a Coproduction Meeting at the new Kino Cas Filmmakers Lounge this year in Karlovy Vary during the 49th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF).

    The event is co-organised and sponsored by the Czech Film Fund, Polish Film Institute (PISF), Slovak Audiovisual Fund (AVF) and organised by Marketa Hodouskova of Film New Europe Association and Joanna Wendorff- Ostergaard of the Polish Film Institute..

    The event will present case studies of four international coproductions from the region and participants including the heads of the regional film funds and film producers will discuss how to increase the number of successful coproductions from the region.  The event will be moderated by FNE news editor and distinguished international film expert Cathy Meils. The event will be followed by a cocktail for participants.

    This is the third in a series of new events that started with the Warsaw Summit last year organised by JoannaWendorff- Ostergaard and the Polish MEDIA Desk aimed at increasing audiences and the international visibility of films from the region by sharing successful models for projects that cross borders.  The momentum continued with the Visegrad Meeting organised by the Slovak Creative Europe - MEDIA desk in Bratislava earlier this year.

    The Kino Cas Filmmakers Lounge is a new industry space sponsored by the Czech Film Fund that will make its debut this year in KVIFF hosting a number of industry events throughout the festival.

    The project case studies to be presented are:

    I, Olga Hepnarova by Tomáš Weinreb and Petr Kazda

    Gottland an omnibus directed by five FAMU students

    Red Spider directed by Marcin Koszałka

    The Red Captain directed by Michal Kollar

    The Film New Europe Coproduction Meeting takes place at:

    15:00-17:00 Wednesday 9 July at Kino Cas Filmmakers Lounge and will be followed by a cocktail for participants.
