PRAGUE: Hollywood stars, Orlando Bloom and two-time Oscar winner Michael Douglas, will move to the Czech Republic for seven weeks to shoot high budget action thriller Unlocked directed by Michael Apted in early November.

Unlocked is the story of a CIA agent, played by the Swedish actress Noomi Rapace, facing threats of a terrorist attack on London. The film’s producer is Lorenzo di Bonaventura, who plans to spend more than 100m CZK (3.63m EUR) in the Czech Republic.

Czech Anglo Productions is the line producer.

Michael Douglas is not the only Oscar winner shooting in the Czech Republic this year. In August, Adrian Brody arrived in the Czech town of Telč for the historical epic Emperor, directed by Lee Tamahori, for which he plays the role of the Habsburg emperor Charles V.

Film incentives could explain this renewal of foreign interest in the Czech Republic. Last year 500m CZK was allocated for incentives, this year it's 800m CZK.
