    PRAGUE Nobel, a Norwegian public television (NRK) eight-part miniseries began shooting in the Czech Republic on 3 August 2015. 

    Nobel is a political thriller about a Norwegian soldier serving in Afghanistan who becomes embroiled in a political conspiracy.

    The series is produced by Monster Scripted and the Czech line producer is Sirena Film, a long term partner of Scandinavian film and TV projects in the Czech Republic.  

    Director Per Olav Sørensen has already worked in the Czech Republic, namely on his successful series The Heavy Water War.

    The series is supported by the Norwegian Film Institute and the tax incentives under the Czech State Cinematography Fund 

    According to the Czech Film Commission, of the total project budget of 222m CZK (8.25m EUR), the estimated Czech spend will be 34m CZK (1.25m EUR).

    The shooting in the Czech Republic will last until 21 August, taking place mainly at Prague locations, KCD Film Studios and Barrandov Studios. Some parts will also be shot at the Grand hotel Pupp in Karlovy Vary.
