PRODUCTION: Chinese TV Series Shooting in Czech Republic

    PRAGUE: Chinese TV series The Last Visa directed by Hua Quing is currently shooting in the Czech city of Liberec which is standing in for Vienna. The series will contain eight two-hour parts made as independent feature films. 

    The project is a coproduction between the Chinese production company Omnijoi and the Czech Republic’s Twin Star Film.

    The story based on true events takes place in 1938 and portraits a Chinese ambassador in Austria who got the nickname of the Chinese Oskar Schindler for saving thousands of Jews by helping them to get out of Europe.

    Shooting is planned for 130 days and will continue simultaneously in Liberec, Prague and Plzen until 15 October 2015. Several Czech actors are in the cast including Jan Révai, Vlastina Svátková and Otakar Brousek junior.

    Omnijoi and Twin Star Film are also preparing another Chinese-Czech project, the feature film Coral Moon.
