PRAGUE: The Czech State Cinematography Fund's Council gave grants to three Czech majority feature-length animated films in its June 2017 session. The results were announced on 20 June.
A total of 14 production companies with 16 projects applied for grants, including both projects of renowned personalities of contemporary Czech animation and student graduation films. Several are coproduction projects.
Genre-wise, the collection of applying projects was very diverse, from three minute long anecdotes to feature length theatrical films. The Council preferred projects with clear concept and potential for international release. A total of 1,522,939 EUR / 40 m CZK available for this call was finally divided between 10 projects.
