PRAGUE: New Zealand's director/screenwriter/actor Taika Waititi is filming his anti-war satire Jojo Rabbit in the Czech Republic during a 40-day shoot lasting through mid-July. The film stars Scarlett Johansson and Sam Rockwell.

Production services are handled by Czech Anglo Productions and filming is partly taking place at Barrandov Studio.

Waititi himself plays an imaginary Adolf Hitler in a war story parodying the Nazis and Nazi propaganda. Johansson plays a single mother hiding a young Jewish girl from the Nazis and from her own young son, who is a member of the Hitler Youth. The film is a Fox Searchlight Pictures production.
