BOX OFFICE: Two Domestic Films in Czech Weekend Top Ten

    PRAGUE: Czech films Bear with Us/Chata na prodej by Tomas Pavlicek and Smiles of Sad Men/Úsměvy smutných mužů by Dan Svátek were ranked the 5th and the 6th respectively in the Czech box office in weekend 2-5 August 2018.

    In two weeks since its release by CinemArt currently in 77 cinemas,  comedy Bear with Us had 38,669 total admissions and 209,455  EUR/5,360,246 CZK total gross. The film is produced by Master Film in coproduction with the Czech Television. The film was made with support from the Czech Film Fund and Creative Europe – MEDIA.

    Comedy/drama Smiles of Sad Men by Dan Svátek was released by Bontonfilm and is currently running in 51 cinemas and after four weeks had 89,047 total admissions and 510,605 EUR/ 13,067,069 CZK total gross. Smiles of Sad Men was produced by Films in coproduction with ISprodukce, Filmowy Uzel Zlin, the City of Zlin, Love Trouble and Urologická Klinika.

    Ranked 13th in the weekend chart, comedy/drama Patrimony/ Tátova volha by Jiri Vejdelek (produced by Infinity Prague, with support from the Czech Film Fund) was previously ranked 34. The film released by CinemArt is currently running in 13 cinemas and in 22 weeks it gathered an impressive 279,679 total admissions and 1,540,677 EUR/ 39,427,977 CZK total gross.
